About MilkMatters Lactation, RN, PLLC

MilkMatters was founded in 2019 by Jillian Carter, RN, IBCLC and Randie Shapiro, RN, IBCLC. With years of experience in lactation support, Jill and Randie knew the importance of professional support after hospital discharge, and saw that services in their community were lacking.

Through the next couple years, the COVID pandemic brought many challenges, and the ability to have a MilkMatters lactation consultant provide services safely in their own home was critical for many families. MilkMatters grew, building an outstanding team of professional Lactation Consultants serving the greater Capital Region, the Hudson Valley, and New York City.

In 2022, Randie moved on to other endeavors and Jill became the sole owner of MilkMatters. The MilkMatters office in Albany opened in 2024, offering the option of office visits in addition to home visits and telehealth. MilkMatters lactation consultants continue to provide support to families throughout New York State.
